16oz orange tonic

625g Apples (approx 4 big apples)
250g Carrots (approx 4 medium carrots)
30g Lemon with rind (1/2 lemon)
25g Ginger Root (1 thumb)

This is delicious and spicy! The lemon gives this juice a tonic feeling because of it's sweetness . The georgous orange colour reminds you of the necessities of Vitamin A and beta caritine in our daily lives.

Why drink this magic tonic?
-the ginger and lemon aid in digestion. Ginger helps calm nausea.
-Lemon and apples help regulate the body as well. The pectin in apples helps the intestinal muscles move food through the flow of the body faster, aided with the fibre that apples provide.
-Ginger helps promote blood circulation in the body as it is a warming herb and a natural decongestant. Great for kicking any lingering colds away!
-Ginger also helps reduce inflammation in the body
-Carrots do wonders for boosting the immune system by increasing the production and performance of white blood cells; building resistant to various kinds of infections.

The list goes on! Great morning drink!
Make sure to drink it on an empty stomach to harness all of the nutrients and benefits:)

Going Tropic Green Smoothie Juice

This drink made around 24oz.! Adding the mango to it made it quite thick and tasty :) yum yum!

-15g Mint leaves
-15g parsley
-20g ginger root ( the size of an "ok" gesture with thumb and pointer)
- 140g Kale leaves
-340g mango (peel and depip it)
-165g pineapple chunks
-2 red delicious apples

This drink was epic! I had to peel two mangoes because I nibbled too much on the first one because they were perfect ripeness! This juice is just tasty and delicious. I had to do it tribute to the beautiful Vancouver summer :)

Earthy Pink Spice

Here is a big delicious juice I made this morning :) This recipe creates approximately 24oz of juice. I wish I had someone to share this with this morning!

-365g Apples (2 medium)
-175g Beet Root (1 medium)
-250g Carrots (4 medium)
-150g Cucumber (1/2 a cucumber)
-190g Celery (3 medium stalks)
-15g Ginger Root (1 thumb)

This juice was sweet and earthy, and extremely hydrating. The sweet, earthy taste of beets blends perfectly with the spicy ginger.

-Carrots helps your skin by nourishing it to prevent acne and dry skin.
-Cucumber provides silica, which aids in healthy, connective tissues. It aids in clearing skin impurities along with hydrating the skin.
-Ginger helps combat nausea. It also helps break down fatty foods and helps aid in breaking down proteins
-Beets are high in iron and promote oxygen carrying red blood cells

Enjoy!! I sure did

Pretty in Pink - The Celery Detox

  • 40g Parsley (1 handful)
  • 130g Celery (2 stalks)
  • 185g Carrots (3 medium)
  • 185g Apple (2 medium)
  • 50g Beet Root (1/2 a beet)
  • 20g Ginger Root (1 thumb)
As you can tell... I have beets in my fridge...

Big Pink Detox

Big Pink Made 24oz. Enough for breakfast- and then some!!
To make (in this order for masticating efficiency!)
  • 200g Apples (2 medium)
  • 90g Spinach (3cups)
  • 130g Celery (2 large stalks)
  • 175g Beet Root (1 medium beet)
  • 485g Carrots (8 medium carrots)

  • A delicious and refreshing drink, great for morning energy and cleansing. I am drinking this to clear up my skin.
  • Beets are exceptionally high in iron and are great antioxidants. This helps reactivate and regenerate red blood cells for supplying fresh oxygen to the body.
  • The ample vitamin C from carrots helps prevent blemishes and dry skin and helps to cleanse the liver from toxicity.
  • The choline from beet juice detoxifies the liver and the body as a whole.
  • Spinach has properties of high alkalinity, which helps reduce inflammation.
  • PLUS IT'S PINK! Beets are full of radness

Let's juice!! - Juicing benefits

As of late, I have become exceptionally interested in a type of body purification for overall health and wellness. Our world has become so unnatural, processed, and nutritionally uneducated! I'm using a blog as a tool of knowledge for myself and for other like minded people :)
I want to share my best recipes!! Because juicing is like cooking... it's a learning process of pairing flavours and nutrients together to create harmony! :)

WHY JUICE??
Personally I got in a bit of a smoothie rut and my smoothies contained more sugar than candy bars! I watched the documentary "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead" ( a Netflix Must see!!) and it opened my eyes to the ideas of juicing and nature's ability to cure ailments naturally.

So here are some reasons why juicing is great :
  • your body can easily absorb the nutrients
  •  eat a crap load of veggies in one go!
  • add more veggies into your diet (I find I only eat my veggies come 4pm and later!)
  • a good addition to your meal (I don't recommend replacing meals with juicing as there is no protein or fat)

I can go on.. but since I have added a cup of juice to my morning regime, my skin is clearer, I don't rely on coffee for energy, and I feel healthier and happier. JUICE EVERY DAMN DAY

SO get juicing!
